Auditions

2012 Auditions

We will be casting for a double bill of one-act operas – Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and Rachmaninov's Francesca di Rimini – and the musical Once Upon a Mattress. Rehearsals will begin in May with performances in June 2012.

Managed Artists

Auditions will be held in New York City in late November 2012. The Princeton Festival regularly contacts artists' representatives in the Fall with audition dates and repertory information for the summer season prior to each round of auditions. Artists with representation should contact their representative for information on these auditions. Representatives seeking to receive audition announcements may submit a request as well as information about their roster to The Princeton Festival's Artistic Director:

Unmanaged Artists

The Princeton Festival will also hear unmanaged artists for supporting roles and covers in late November; however, time for these auditions is usually very limited and will be allocated to artists auditioning for particular roles and with substantial previous performing credits. As much as we would like to hear everyone who submits audition materials, it is seldom possible because of time considerations.

To be considered for an unmanaged artist audition in November, please submit your current resumé and an 8x10 black and white photo by October 15, 2011 to:

Artistic Director
c/o The Princeton Festival
P.O. Box 2063
Princeton, NJ 08543

A live audition is not guaranteed. Unmanaged artists are kindly requested not to send their materials directly to the Artistic Director by e-mail. Please follow the procedure above.

Opera Chorus

The Princeton Festival will hold open auditions for unmanaged artists for the opera chorus on January 28, 29, and 30, 2012 in Princeton, NJ. Please prepare an operatic aria or art song and bring your current resumé and an 8x10 black and white photo to the audition. An accompanist will be provided. You may request an audition by emailing operachorus@princetonfestival.org.

Auditioning for the Musical

The Princeton Festival will hold open auditions for principal roles in its musical theater production on January 28, 29, and 30, 2012 in Princeton and on January 31, 2012 in NYC. Please prepare a musical theater selection and bring your current resumé and an 8x10 black and white photo to the audition.. An accompanist will be provided. You may request an audition by emailing musical@princetonfestival.org.

Please note: Because of scheduling overlap between the musical and the operas, it is not possible to sing in both the musical and the opera chorus.

Performing Groups

The Princeton Festival welcomes partnerships with already established ensembles and performing organizations. We typically plan more than a year ahead. To inquire about your organization being included at The Festival, please write to artisticdirector@princetonfestival.org.
